England were runners-up in last season's Six Nations Championship, in what proved to be a turning point for the team. Under their interim coach, Stuart Lancaster, England won all but one of their Six Nations matches, including a comprehensive defeat of Ireland on the final weekend of the Championship. Stuart Lancaster was subsequently appointed full time England coach after an impressive Six Nations campaign.
In the 2013 Six Nations Championship, England will play three home matches – against Scotland, France and Italy – and two away matches – against Ireland and Wales.
