Wales slumped to another heavy defeat, losing 54-12 to France at the Principality Stadium. France had stormed into a 19-0 lead inside the opening 15 minutes with tries from Émilien Gailleton, Louis Bielle-Biarrey and Fabien Brau-Boirie. Wales responded in the 19th minute through Rhys Carre, but Matthieu Jalibert added a fourth French try before the break as the visitors led 26-7 at half-time. Julien Marchand extended Les Bleus' advantage early in the second half, before Théo Attissogbe crossed twice to put the result beyond doubt. Charles Ollivon added another as the stadium filled with the sounds of La Marseillaise. Wales searched for a late consolation and were rewarded when Mason Grady scored in the 78th minute.
